During her GRAB BACK residency, Anna Ogier-Bloomer plans to prepare and develop her project Seeing Breastfeeding, a one-day portrait shoot open to the public, taking place at PES in Newark. Breastfeeding mothers of Newark and surrounding areas will be invited to sit for a free studio portrait while breastfeeding their child, and will be mailed two 5"x7" prints and a digital file from their shoot. This event is intended to normalize breastfeeding and to further empower breastfeeding mothers. Ogier-Bloomer will partner with local groups and organizations to promote the event and to allow them to share resources of their own during the event as well. Ogier Bloomer was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. She holds an MFA in Photography & Related Media from Parsons School of Design, where she was awarded the Photography Department Prize in 2011. She received her BFA from The School of The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, where she was the recipient of the Yousuf Karsh Prize in Photography and a Dean's Travel Grant.
