Inspired by Audre Lorde's "A Woman Speaks" All Your Wide Futures is an exhibition of public art by female-identified artists responding to themes of female strength and power. Spanning nearly a mile of corridor space in a high-traffic area in Newark, this exhibition offers artists the opportunity to engage with issues of gender, race, and the possibilities of youth in a diverse urban setting.

Project For Empty Space is an organization founded, directed, and staffed by women from diverse backgrounds. We believe that a new generation of young women can lead this city without conforming to conservative ideas of racialized, sexualized femininity; that art activates, enlivens, and creates discourse in urban spaces; and that bold and powerful public installations will empower the young women of Newark (and beyond) to reimagine possibilities of identity and futurity, struggle and resilience. We look to the future, both rooted in and moving from a varied past, as uncharted territory in which expansive, empowered multiplicity can flourish.
