ISABEL SAKURA
Isabel Sakura (a.k.a Sakura Daijin) is a Japanese-American multimedia artist based in Brooklyn and Newark, working mainly with music videos, sculpture, installation, and fashion as forms to explore themes of the idol/influencer and romance in relation to the formation of a feminine identity. Sakura commonly works with fibers, shiny and cute found objects/trash, domestic items, beauty products, video, and original music. By combining and remixing these materials together, she creates whimsical and immersive installations and video performances as her pop star persona Sakura Daijin.
