During her residency, Sahana Ramakrishnan plans to develop a series of intaglio prints that reimagine Picasso’s Vollard Suite from an alternative female perspective. In her narrative the magic and drama of an old myth collides with contemporary themes of sexual exploration, voyeurism, disability identity, gender roles and power dynamics. Ramakrishnan was born in India and grew up in Singapore. After completing her BFA in Painting at the Rhode Island School of Design in 2015 she moved to Brooklyn, where she currently lives and works.
