  • Part 2: A Feeling Of Itself Exhibition at 800 Broad Street

    800 BROAD ST, NEWARK - A Feeling of Itself‍ ‍is an exhibition presented in collaboration with Lives in Translation (LiT) and the Design Consortium at Rutgers University–Newark, led by designers Chantal Fischzang and Gisela Ochoa.

    This exhibition is part of a three-part program unfolding across multiple sites throughout Newark from March through June 2026.

  • Part 1: A Feeling Of Itself Window Intervention

    The window artwork features portraits and interviews with contributors Tushar Rajeevan, Maria Loo, Ketsaida Feliz, Katherine Betzy Rojas, and Gretel Rodriguez, forming the heart of A Feeling of Itself.


On View In NYC | David Antonio Cruz: black/backroom

  • 128 BAXTER ST, NYC - David Antonio Cruz’s black/backroom at PES Futures considers future-making through the lens of both personal and collective historical precedence. As part of a continuation of Cruz’s unveiling of Queer-Brown-Histories, the artist shapes potentialities through intersecting themes of loss, desire, and the legacy of Cruz's grandparents' land - Puerto Rico. black/backroom is on view from March 17, 2026 through June 5, 2026.


Upcoming Public Art

  • NEW PUBLIC ART FOR DOWNTOWN NEWARK TO BE FEATURED ON NJPAC’S REIMAGINED CAMPUS

    Project for Empty Space joined NJPAC in 2025 to conceive and execute a new public art program embedded within the institution’s ambitious campus redevelopment in downtown Newark. The broader project will introduce a mixed-use neighborhood with housing, retail, parks, and expanded spaces for education, rehearsal, and community gathering, and PES is helping to lead the integration of thirteen site-responsive artworks across indoor and outdoor locations.

  • Eirini Linardaki: Constellation Bench

    MULBERRY COMMONS, NEWARK - Newark Grounds, led by Project for Empty Space in collaboration with its civic and cultural partners, is proud to announce the unveiling of Constellation Bench, a new public sculpture by artist Eirini Linardaki. The work will be revealed on Monday, May 4, at 2:00 PM in Mulberry Commons in Newark, New Jersey, and will remain on view through August 2026.
