FEMINIST LIBRARY

The PES Feminist Library features books and literature pertaining to intersectional feminism and women’s empowerment. Visitors are encouraged to bring their favorite reading material to share with others as a way to not only share knowledge and perspective; but also, to prompt conversations.

The PES Feminist Library is also home to the Margaret Kaplan Art Book Collection, which includes the personal library of the late Margaret Kaplan, former senior V-P and executive editor of Abram's Artbooks for over 50 years.

The priceless collection consists of hundreds of books and journals about art, architecture, and design - many of which are first editions. There are dozens of rare historical art books filled with drawings and personal correspondence: in addition to being a legendary editor, Kaplan was a mentor and champion to many prolific artists, photographers, scholars, and authors.

Special thanks to the many that supported the creation of this space, including Angel Bellaran, Jill Prajapati, Karoline Gonzalez Sanchez, Miranda Haws, and Sophia Loren Sanchez.
